The Ugly Truth
[font=Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande]His aesthetics catch your eye,
His charm catches your heart
But to him, a thing...
is all that you are.
You see, he's a pretty lie in disguise,
And I'm the ugly truth, and you...
You look away,
While I see beauty outside and in too.
How many times will you let him hurt you?
How much can your heart take?
You see, he can fake all day...
But, how much can you take before you break?
he lights the gas,
But I, I blow out the match,
He widens the wound...
But I, I apply the patch.
He's a comfortable lie,
And I'm the ugly truth...
When will you open your eyes,
And see, that I know the real you?

This is a beautiful thing you've written here. There's no ugly in your truth...only in the denial of it. We build our illusions and they hurt like hell when the come crashing down around us. I hope the person you wrote this for sees soon.

The people. Lol. Hundreds maybe thousands have inspired this one. Thanks Willow. Our illusions, that's a common theme for me. I've come to know them as paradigms, and maybe they do hurt, but, I've come to enjoy breaking them.

I don't even know how to express how great I think every line of this write is CW!
People often have relationship ideals and will stop at nothing to get what they think they should have, what is deemed acceptable to fit into their world amongst their friends, family, society, rather than what they actually need. What is good for them, what will bring out the best in them. These people will not help themselves, they'll continue to look through rose tinted glasses, thus not accepting the ugly truth!
