THE VISIT
Jesus visited me today
saying He wanted to break bread with me
I’m glad I had wine to go with it
He asked if we could watch a football game
He grimaced and grunted
with each linebackers’ illegal hit
He rooted for whoever had the ball
wouldn’t drink my wine
I had a twelve-pack in the fridge
He sucked it down and belched
didn’t surprise me
I always figured Him for being just one of the guys
