(Written for the "Valentine's Day Haiku " competition)
To be still in love
e’en through life’s vicissitudes
heart-deep constancy
Chocolate and flowers
love's inadequate tokens
thy kiss louder speaks
Petal bare thorns stay
by selfishness beauty stripped
come Spring’s renewal
Ooh la la heart reads
be mine melts on happy tongue
love be ever sweet
Flowers sold year-round
romance daily sustenance
love perpetual
