My Little Girls

Three years it's been
Since I’ve been unshackled
It makes me worry about you girls
How tight are your restrains?

Jenna you have grown so much
In height and in wit
Your pale skin dotted like stars in the sky
Your straight golden hair
Lips kissed with pink
Straighter teeth
Your hostile personality
Your sweet and gentle grey eyes
Reading classics
Raising your fist
Your tongue as sharp as knives
Your words like fired bullets
But deep inside
You're still so sweet
Like the girl I left behind
Sweet Angel

Sadie you changed so much
I cry
Your sunkissed skin
Your long chocolate curly hair
Your fragile boney hands
 that spreads innocents
with a touch
Your big round eyes
With brown piercing irises
Your playful white smile
You can read now
Listening to you
pulling the words
off the ink covered pages
Your big heart
Your tearful eyes
Flowing down your cheeks
Like streams
Your lips quiver
You cry when things are too much
Too innocent
To the girl I left behind
Little Lamb

Little girls
Who wipes your tears
when I’m not there
Who gently plants kisses on your cheek
Who feeds you
Who looks after you
Who loves you

I’m still there
You're still here
It's not enough
We’re broken.
