A Becoming

When you phone the Samaritans and they hang up on you
When you become so jaded it actually causes you pain
When you genuinely stop caring about your mortality
The day the deep internet no longer shocks you
When snuff films no longer cause you revulsion
When a person falls in the street and you do not laugh
When 100 people die in a terrorist attack and you don’t cry
When black babies die of starvation and you don’t care
You see a hobo on the street and want to set him on fire
You are prepared to beat the seven colours of shit out of somebody
You are willing to shoot somebody on the subway for no reason
When you approve of torture and deliberately causing somebody pain
When your hate, rage and personal loathing has become random
When you place no real value on life, there is nothing sacred
When everything you ever were feels numb, feels nothing
When you gladly embrace everything that is darkness
You have reached and surpassed all things evil
You view humanity as cattle to be herded and slaughtered
You are finally where you need to be
You are finally where you want to be
You have finally arrived
You’re finally ready
