Found Love At The Bottom
We sit side by side
Passing the bottle between us
Sipping into separate numbness
Our pain the only thing in common we have
"Please, don't you love me"
I whisper as his hand lingers on mine
On top of the bottle, I beg with my eyes
He nods, closing his eyes as he takes the last drink
I rest my head on his shoulder
His arm draped over mine, holding me close
He whispers my name as he lifts my face
I smile against his lips and pull him close
I loved him but it would never work
It was just love found at the bottom
Passing the bottle between us
Sipping into separate numbness
Our pain the only thing in common we have
"Please, don't you love me"
I whisper as his hand lingers on mine
On top of the bottle, I beg with my eyes
He nods, closing his eyes as he takes the last drink
I rest my head on his shoulder
His arm draped over mine, holding me close
He whispers my name as he lifts my face
I smile against his lips and pull him close
I loved him but it would never work
It was just love found at the bottom
