The Forested Path

transport me to my enchanted days
i'm feeling afraid

when I wandered among the redwoods
gathered pine cones
dressed them with moss and daisies

my secrets not held by a diary
instead I whispered them to these mighty denizens
they stood stoic and strong
never telling a soul
bore the weight of my pain and delight

as my spirit soar
on the backs of rays
of sunshine
when anything was possible

when I climbed rocks
felt connected to the Earth
her mountains the breasts
that produces water
from which we sup

her oceans a sacred place
the tides rumble a story all their own
when I felt my most desolate
you gifted me tiny shells
as I walked her shores

I've drifted so far into the shadow lands
lost my way from the forested paths
that fed my soul

forgot for awhile the majesty
the greatness of nature it'self

days of madness
when you comforted me
rained almond blossoms
upon my head as a blessing

the days I could hear the trees talk
with the rustling of their leaves
as I run tree to tree

show me the way home
on this day
to the shade
to the path my feet once knew
