I Horus

I was Set
To reign
With falcon wing fury
Osiris bloodied by Destiny
Isis tended my pain
With whisper of greater gain
Than any before me
Least of all this Ptolemy
That seemed Set to crumble
With usual Roman tumble
Egypt's gold hand
That spread wide across
The oasis that bowed to me
I wept vipor laced tears
And saw my glory of years
Fold to great hot sands
And the hands of mortal man
My red of crown
Flowed rusty rivers
Into my vast De Nile

So I sit perched a long while
Watching with piercing eye
My history rise across new centuries skies
