Light of the Surface

I grasp the earth
Between my fingers
I grasp all the
Knowledge of the
Years of this trotted
Land.
I hold
Only the purity
That the earth
Can give.
She's intwined
Me all my life
I've been beautifully
Wrapped in a light
In an air
That brings me
Life
Feel her breathe
In the wind
And sing
Through the forest
I've been held
Down onto this
Land
But it fills my
Spirit
With bird songs
And blushing
Sunsets
Things that lift
Me farther and
Stronger than
Gravity
Can keep me
Grounded.
The spirit of
The earth
Answers back
To me
Sifting between
My fingers
Sand and soil
Grass and sea
I know them
All and they
All know me.
