Life And Death

Show me life and death, My Love,
Take me to the place where
You converted.

Lead me into the dark,
Red swimming sea of microbia
Leveled by basic necessities.

Walk me along the
Frailsome fringe of finality,
Of deaths swan song inquisition.

Why, Why? ---

Did you die:
A white, pale shaft of reason;
Such tremulous resplendence.

The reasons why ---

All stood in neat rows like
Spring tulips emerging in
Warring lamp-light
At daybreak.

Oh, Sodden-you ---
Becoming earth as
Microbes eat you.

A grinning spectre;
My heart:
Pink and glistening.

A glorification consumes you.

Oh, infanticistic peril;
The well you retreat to:

Oh, frank circumstance;
The bed you lie on.

(Your Life) ---
Fleeting it was though grand,
As Summers Wind-Song.

It catches my ear like
Grating grass-stalks,

In fall. ---

It eats my hopeful grains
As they fall and scatter,
Never to germ. ---

For my heart pulses in
Berry-Berry cadence.

And a scathed scarab
Crawls
Upon my pervious
Brow.
