Something Breaks
Sometimes, when something in me breaks, deep within
wounds cracking, resonating memories of despair
Sometimes, when I hear an inner whisper, sinister and mean
consuming darkness, life's long path to nowhere
Sometimes, then, an almost serene surrender, just wants to give in
why even bother
No matter how hard I'll try, and ache, suffer, and fight!
I will not recover
Lost in the screaming void, forever astray from the light
Sometimes, something deep breaks, kept hidden within
I become my morbid whisper, a facade of inner piece becomes a genuine grin.
