Forgiveness

If you look into my eyes you'll  believe when I say,
forgiveness never takes the initial pain away.
Its all in how you respond and the actions thereafter,
that decide the course of new life chapters.
Sometimes actions irritate, sometimes opinions hurt feelings,
the idea of maturity isn't always appealing.
When your mad or indifferent with the way things are,
taking the selfish approach because you carry that scar.
That moment that changed the course of your thinking,
to assume the worst in people, metaphorically drinking.
Intoxicated by distortions of your concept of logic,
truth a falsehood ,Imaginary, refuting new topics.
Impossible to think an individual can evolve,
change their ways, bring forth better days, unite simply for the cause.
Being, thriving righteously,
imagine how that person feels at night you see.
Trying to find a way to rectify the situation,
only to be received with constant condemnation.
Led to believe that progressions in the making,
discovering later the other party was faking.
How do you fathom continuing to try?
when all you see is disgust in a persons eyes,
When every positive thought you have doesn't seem to cut it,
because the intended subject is absorbing none of it.
Smiling and nodding but only believing what they think,
genuine kindness foreshadowed, pushed to the brink.
Edging closer to the point of no return,
trying to extinguish the fire before this bridge completely burns.
Losing sanity and confidence on your journey to repent,
questioning yourself, is this time well spent?
One view is possibility bonded in friendship,
the ladder view is plotting on ways to end it.
Both views collide when agreements cant be reached,
one blinded by fury, the other crippled by speech.
Realizing there are some that dwell in deceit,
but what about the white flag wavers? allow them to speak.
Allow yourself to understand only together can you end this,
no one ever said forget or disarm your defenses.
Your allowed to be leery but to be cold is senseless,
instead of living in doubt try FORGIVENESS.
