Spelunking for Necessity
I am afraid to leave the dark.
Plato may revere the light,
Absolute as it is,
but I will not stand for the subsuming
of my comfortable twilight
And if ever I am granted wings,
to escape that cave which has been my home for the past few forevers,
I will break them,
because I am afraid of heights,
and will not be subjected to them.
