Good Morning   (for the “Dawn, a new day.” Comp)

(1.Early morning cheerfulness can be extremely obnoxious. — William Feather )

I just dread mornings
Let me rephrase
I hate mornings
When you’re around
It’s like I have developed
Super hero hearing
Making noise painful
You shout “morning.” with glee
How can you wake up
And be that feckin happy
Your voice drowns me out
I ignore and hope you stop
You scrape butter on toast
Like gravel on aluminium
Grated with a brass shovel
You crunch the toast
And my fillings all fall out
I feign being asleep hoping
You might try being quieter
But you rock my head
Pouring Granola into your bowl
You waterfall milk over Granola
Then suck and crunch it
Like a pig eating apples
I hear every exquisite note
My pain increases
I want to scream
My eyes bleed
My ears exhale
I look at you and instantly
I want to smash your face in
Maybe I should lay off
The crystal meth
