Joy
Oh! my sweet why lament you so
sedges green upon the lake
and lilies bloom the summer eve'.
Skylarks high sing loud and clear,
butterflies drink deep,
Owls and fox are gone
no more threat as such it was,
The earth was mine with them,
heaven my reward with you.
Be bold my love take of each,
rise from your bed of grief,
I am yours but for the asking;
I am maiden that my gift
no man knows me that my grief.
Come my love share yourself,
lament no more ,cry one
last time upon my breast
for joy, is ours today..
sedges green upon the lake
and lilies bloom the summer eve'.
Skylarks high sing loud and clear,
butterflies drink deep,
Owls and fox are gone
no more threat as such it was,
The earth was mine with them,
heaven my reward with you.
Be bold my love take of each,
rise from your bed of grief,
I am yours but for the asking;
I am maiden that my gift
no man knows me that my grief.
Come my love share yourself,
lament no more ,cry one
last time upon my breast
for joy, is ours today..
