Big Ankoli horns longer than their cow legs
How they piss shit and give milk
Sweet as your skin in the butter barn
Where the eye socket slots to the cheek bone
And papaya lips search mine
And your hip bone
How brown cows herd through the gate
With their long hungry tongues
And honey mooing
What did I lose to find you
In finding you what did I lose
Our joys sorrows weren't reflections yet
And we hid all but our hearts

I like how this poem mixes romantic atmospherics with vulgarity and gritty realism, in a first verse which feels almost like free-form word association. If I have one issue with it it's that it's a little too detached from any appreciable setting, and could do with some more concrete establishment in that area. JMHO, of course. Thank you for the read. xxx
