Halal Cart on my Corner
Muslim dude from Egypt
Does wondrous things with chicken
Lamb is good too
I always get the chicken though
I kinda befriended him last winter
Neighborhood up in arms
That alone made me reach out
People always afraid of what they don't know or eat
All good for about a year
Neighbor folk slowly reached out
Steady steam of business
He gives a nice salad and grills the pita
Recently when getting my food he starts pushing religion
I'm about as religious as a dog pissing on a hydrant
Always believed it's a personal choice best left private
I don't crave his chicken anymore , we had our moment

I've seen a few dogs very serious about their pissing on the hydrant. Perhaps he mistook you for one of the zealous pissers? I'm with you on the issue of not pushing one's religion. Sad to lose out on the chicken though. :)

Religious discussions (as well as politics) damages many a friendship, Poet. Best just stick to love and acceptance between one another. Good verse.

I am always disappointed in people when they try to push their religion, it is usually at that point I unfriend them. Their religion is their own mental illness, they should keep that to themselves.
excellent ink - a point well made :-)

It's a religious gumbo festival here in the big town, though the secular team is winning I think ....

Great write. My dad always said to never discuss religion, money or politics socially. Doing so will end relationships.

Don't see too many Kosher carts
If you did , they would probably be all about something else too
