3 Short Holiday Poems
1 Holidays Past
In my mind I collect
memories of holidays past
like decorations they
adorn my heart
strewn as fall leaves
on weathered ground
lifted by wind they speak
in rushes of air
and wisps of dust
with an old glow
they circle space
surrounding me
lifting me....
2 Winter
On the edge of life
it becomes like cold
on the heels of death
a compact fold
trees are dead
decayed like dirt
a dead still calm
befalls a word
in a heart of stone
my will entrusts
behold the prism
frost encrusts
a captive ocean
cracked like ice
winter the season
full of light...
3 A Crackling Fire
A crackling fire burns
from dry dead wood
heat rises to create
new life as ash
encircles the space
smouldering
shedding its skin
it cools and becomes
a scent of the life
it once was...

on weathered ground
