I Want to Write a Poem

 I want to write a poem
about the man I turned into
writing words
not to be read aloud
but silently
as you decipher the concealed meaning
with nothing within the rhyme
freestyle is what I’m about
not meant to be an epic
not in the least
by the time I am finished
with my brutal non-oratory
thoughts and passions
I may well
expire from finally putting myself
at rest
when the last line is writ
on the computer
not paper
leaving the trees
for those poets who follow
after me
don’t plan to write me into a
more pleasant fellow
whot you see is whot you get
if I was hard-hitting and uncompromising
in my former lines of poetry
can’t change that
its who I am
there may be cum-splattered lines
in my thoughts
I see a poem which will cause me to sob
a step above
the man I used to write about
I sense not melancholy
but up-lifting lines
eh . . .
after all is said and done
and all the words have been writ
think I’ll settle back
and light one up
