The need

the need to be heard
the absolute need to be felt
to have my words

caress one's ear
and further infuse
to touch that soulful place within

a race to the finish
touching a person's desire
igniting a fire breathlessly
attaining the win

when read once then reread
than the climax comes
when were saved to a list
to be forever kept

the need of vast understanding
to be intimate with strangers
to become old knowing friends
in but a few stanzas

my need fulfilled
through your understanding
the kinship in my undertaking
awaiting honest critique and ridicule

to bring out of me something infinitely better
on my next attempt at producing flame instead
of a redundant spark  my words I long to inspire
I want to be heard felt and longed for
to have people actually wait for what I might next write
this is the need of which I speak
