Those late night cafes in Cairo... Yes, the most pressing of matters are discussed and the most ingenious of ideas are laid out over cards, mint tea, shisha, and backgammon.
I'm certain those late night cafes have monitoring devices inside them now. Corporations/governments likely monitor what is said to find out the prevalent social spending trends, or to thieve a novel patent on some far-fangled contraption giddily dreamed up by engineering undergrads. The government and police certainly monitor what is said to weed out any useless poets who might actually become future trouble-making reactionaries, or to find potential recruits for the secret-service. And the Ancient Patriarchs of the Actors Guild definitely slurps in all the great ideas to hit on the next blockbuster...
That's how all the great movies are made...
So watch your mouth next time you're sipping up a cup with your loyal crew in a late night cafe... Or better yet, speak freely and openly on how you want the world to be a better place and have everything all work out!
One of my meandering thoughts while playing cards, I found it in one of my notebooks, enjoy...
[ I think if the infrastructure crumbles to inevitable dust, and we are left in a scrambling mess to scavenge on the overgrown heaths of the wreckage, I think that if I went off on my own to some far mountain or even into a small agrarian commune-society being built on a harmonious sunny meadowy plain, that after the skills of survival and shelter and hunting and crops and food preparation were all ironed out, and a daily bump and grind was up and running again, then I would certainly want with me a good container's worth of some kind of powdered fluorine salt, that I could mix into my drinking water from time to time, to get that old fluoridated daze again, walking about in unquestioning, totally-accepting bliss!
I really would miss those great cities where you could walk through all day without anyone looking at or speaking to you...]
