You said you would follow me into the dark,
But now you are leaving me stark
Naked as this darkness is swallowing me.
It turns out you told me a lie. In the wee
Hours of the morning we were supposed
To share our fears, but you left me exposed.
You promised me more than this present moment,
But it turned out to be nothing but another stunt.
You painted a vivid picture for the both of us,
But then you took it away. It was never something to fuss
Over, according to you, but I chose to no longer believe
Your lies and truths. You wanted me to achieve
Nothing so I could suffer just like you. You were dragging
Me down to your level. You just wanted this as a fling
Instead of it being meaningful. You shattered my hopes
And dreams into pieces. You let me slide off the ropes
Because you made never made the decision
To completely catch me. You told me that I needed to toughen
Up like I was too soft for your liking. I never knew that
You were going to be hallow. You treated me like a doormat,
Leaving me out when there was a storm, rain and
When there was no sun. The fine grains of sand
Were making me sink so far down until I hit
The rocky bottom. I was being torn into parts that would not fit
Together. And you know what? I am the one who survived
Because after all of this I was completely revived.
