We've Been Married for a Long Time

A lotta years
26 years or is it 27
I gotta think about it
A long time nonetheless

She's sexy but not interested in sex
I on the other hand
Only think about sex
That's where we differ

Last night around 3am
Got up to take a leak
For some reason checked my phone in the dark
Then looked down at the disturbance on the floor

Our 15 year old dog threw up
I realized I was standing in it
My wife dutifully came out and cleaned
She did most of it while I comforted the dog

Later on we got back in bed
I asked her comdicly if she wanted sex
Would you like me to do dirty things to you I asked
I just cleaned up dog puke she responded, how do you top that

Our relationship unique
She was robbed of her sex drive many years ago
A story too long to tell
We work within it though, a silent intimacy

We fall out into slumber
Around 6AM I ask if she wants to snuggle
She says ok, until she has a hot flash
We last a few minutes,  she flashes, I dry her back

The snuggle is our sex
She's got an awesome body and a strong back
When the planets align we can lie entwined for awhile
We treasure those moments as they are few

I write a lot of poems about sex and body parts
I write in characters
I never want the reader to know what's real
That snuggle is my real
 Love
 It has a way of telling stories
