I Can See You

I can see you
Your face is the most beautiful thing I've ever had the privilege to lay my eyes upon
Your eyes sparkle with imagination and passion
Your thin lips curl into that smile that I adore with all my heart.
My body aches to touch yours
My heart feels as if it's come unattached from my veins
it flutters around in my chest and bangs around in my ribcage
You're inches from me now
I can feel the warmth of your skin against my own like the sun on a summer night
Your smell flows in through my nose
intoxicating me as if you were a drug that keeps my heart pumping and my brain turning its wheels
Your eyes catch my own
I can see your joy and longing behind the ocean blue circling around your pupils
Your eyes sparkle and sing with anticipation as you reach for my hand with your own
We touch and I feel electricity flow into my core, bringing me to life as if I've never truly lived before
I can feel my bones shake as you lean in and press your lips against mine
Your breath flows into me and I can finally breathe
Your lips part and you whisper against my lips
But I can't hear you
My ears are filled with the sound of my own heartbeat
I can finally feel
I can finally breathe
I can finally live

But then you're gone
And I'm alone once again

I can't see you anymore.
