UNABATED INDIFFERENCE

Nothing’s changed, it’s groundhog day
With open mind, I catch the rain
Their concern is always misplaced
And I will not exfiltrate
I shut you out again to fill a void
Of your company, I grow annoyed
Your words are scissors to a thread
But I confess that I’m already dead

Left behind by your tomorrow
But I don’t feel sorrow
Drawn lines on what should have been
But at least I’m able to swim
I am unaffected and numb anyway
So what are you trying to say?
My strength comes from apathy
That’s why I’m alone at the peak

Take the pill, fever on the rise
Up on the down-sides
Wear the mask, I’m still in the zone
And where have I flown?
Take a drink, through this I construe
Your tender abuse
Hours pass, I’m still in control
But what of my soul?

Who cares?
