Dark Eyes
All day you haunt my thoughts
all day you have my mind
all day, each day the same
seeking all there is for us
and only us, none to know
the bliss, is it but a dream ?
It cannot be so it must not
each week I drown in you
lost in wonder as a child at Christmas
who must believe the reindeer myth,
reality cold and less than true.
What we have is true,
the Dryad in the wood
the sea that swirls about us
the opal and the butterfly
to bathe the crystal font
watch your dark eyes
before your eye lids close
and we are one.
