Very somber piece of writing, my friend Brenda.
There are times when the darkness of a personal
mist eats at us without relief. The only thing we
can do is try to transpose our thoughts on paper.
You do this quite well.

Melancholy and fine work Crim.  I think of Poe reading this.:

before the fog settled in with its lonely gloom  
you walked away that day and I didn't see you fade  
into the bleak darkness  
where my loving embrace could no longer touch  

A sense of loss eloquently presented.  It has the delicacy of mist and distinctive voice of Lady Crim.

I press sunflowers in my diary  
to remind myself of brighter days  

I do that too. Something to remind me if the write. A flower. A blade of grass. A gum wrapper. A bug skeleton. A photograph. Whatever of the world that it presents.

A very melancholy write, Brenda. Poetry does have its own voice from the heart, and calls to its muse.

I should have known from the title it would be a sad read, makes me think of someone I watched helplessly go away. You penned the sadness that comes with that loss well, I love the haunting part because that exactly what happens :(
