Elegy to a WTF Moment We All Should Have Seen Coming
A morning sun did surly rise
A glaring “revo-lation” dawn
And Che he’s not, but there he is
Keep Calm and Carry On!
The long forsaken rusting sons
Now finally own their minds again
And Fuck! to all ya' all they said
Keep Clam and Carry On!
They fully shocked the old “elites”
Who’ve fallen softly silent dead
The center states are labor red
Keep Calm and Carry On!
Apparently, they can awake
And see the promised rain is piss
He spoke the words to gin a base
Keep Calm and Carry On
For decades told it’s them or us
The brown or black or faithless hordes
Begun to see the richest lie
Keep Calm and Carry On
And Wobblys all a step away
Begin to see the hidden truth
It’s "haves" and who they took it from
Keep Calm and Carry On
A revolution televised
All ignorance can overcome
Prosperity belongs to all
Keep Calm and Carry On
Author's Note: Before everyone gets worked up, I didn't vote for Trump... and I consider his actions and rhetoric monstrous... but apparently from his "Birther" comments forward he was ginning up this base...
I live in a Narnia of a bubble in Northern California, and I grew up in the Southern United States... SO!
I took - as most of my friends did - the Tea Party as just racially challenged wack jobs who were seething that a "N****R" had become President... Not seeing the real anger that existed underneath...
there is one word that gives me hope... ELITES... we have seen the enemy... and so a sleeping giant awakes... if we can look past our anger at the rust belt's "southern strategy" racial and religious insensitivity, and show them that the true adversaries are based on portfolios and accounts, not skin color and faith... we have, hmmmmm, what's the word I'm looking for... a revolution, and no one has to raise a gun...
"the enemy of my enemy is my friend..."
You think I'm crazy? I would suggest you watch this movie...
