Having Coffee
Old friends
In town for a few days
We sit outside in fading sunlight
A lotta laughs
You know how it goes
They retired recently
But still kind of working
Maybe for the money
More likely for the identity
I listen to their stories
I wanted to retire since I started working
Getting closer to that moment
Scares the crap out of me
I live on stress, solving problems, the like
Don't need the money, do need the me
In town for a few days
We sit outside in fading sunlight
A lotta laughs
You know how it goes
They retired recently
But still kind of working
Maybe for the money
More likely for the identity
I listen to their stories
I wanted to retire since I started working
Getting closer to that moment
Scares the crap out of me
I live on stress, solving problems, the like
Don't need the money, do need the me

Gonna enjoy it, do some fun stuff and buy a quality bottle of expensive whiskey and then sink into the void .....

you are always
so cocksure,
hard to imagine you
losing yourself to anything

Too much time on my hands could be dangerous, on the other hand, more time to write poems and seduce the flock ....

I was forced to retire at 52 years old - I know it's a cliche but you've just gotta keep busy, especially mentally - I challenge myself to write something every day, don't even get a day of I also research things of interest just for fun - use google and youtube a lot :-)

I don't think I can ever retire...I'd get lost in the shuffle and forget who I was without something to do, to keep me moving forward. Get write! :)
