OF DARKNESS ALL-CONSUMING
Upon my return, a ghost corner
In the halls of memory where I would linger
Black strands upon the head of my youth
And at my plight I stretched a finger
Ten years and a veil of tempest
Fixation on the bleakest of matters
I was branded by time, a mask of death
This coffin abode to leave me in tatters
Wiping the dust aside now
I would spare none but a glance
Dagger quick to the back of dreams
Where my soul is in a trance
Black candle alight, and I lose sight in the moment
Mire beckoning me to free my scorn
The mirror that gazes through my back, turn around
Revered by empty sockets, painting murder
The art that happiness would leave behind
A fire in my hands, but a colder caress
Given a sign to perish to the avail of the past
And rest through the woods where eternity gasps
My sin
I have left you in the arms of others
Bleeding out
And I would walk away
Where madness begins
Darkness pervades, draining affinity
This all-encompassing black removes detail
All become one in the lack of vision
For in the absence of light, I am immortal
Your grace is a jilted frame, aged by torment
His hands sculpt countries with tears of angels
Vanity is fading fast, wreathed by consequence
The pyre screams and your night falls silent
Hungering moon bleeds of lost love
Brush strokes across twilight eternal
In squalor, a driving insanity, compulsive need
To lash out at the voices inside your fear
Nothing of this wreckage remains at dawn
In misery we have claimed ephemeral flesh
Hibernal red circles enclose this place
In a pool of the sun, we rot in the shade
