What's on my mind

So I'm having trouble
Saying what I want
I should speak my mind
Sometimes I just can't
It's not that I'm afraid
It's not that I am scared
It's I'm ashamed of my thoughts
Getting lost in thin air
There is so much That I think
So much I want to say
So much I want to tell you
Each and every day
But my mouth stays shut
For reasons I don't know
But my mind continues to think
Of a life that it needs to grow
Confusion sets in
Followed by anxiety and fear
Which leads to never telling you
Of my inner thoughts my dear
So I go on living life
Hoping someday you can read my mind
For I'm hoping that when you do
We haven't run out of time
