Love, if it's enough

Before I sleep, I close my eyes to feel you next to me. I see you there, feel your breath warm on my cheek. And even though your eyes are closed, I can see their brown depths beneath your peaceful lids. And they are beautiful reflections. Reflections of us.

My heart yearns to rise like the sun, but is suspended between the moon and a star. My spirit follows upon stones to the brooding music of your chamber; my soul remains tethered in midnight blue. When you hunger, I give my flesh, complete. When you thirst, my tears will sustain you. This is what I give, and it must be enough.

Love was a stranger to me, even when I said those words to other men. You call me Tereska when you desire me, you call me lover when I am in your bed. But if on some tomorrow you do not feel in your heart the same as I feel for you, on that day, you must call me stranger.
