SNOWFALL

Cold caress of a winter breeze
And I can't hear my pain
Warm embrace of alcohol
And I can feel again
Will you stop and review
All the times we've been through?
I see them all falling down
I know that we have all drowned

Nothing melts in the snow
And nothing scorches the sun
Crushed beneath the waves
And I can breathe again
Will it come to me now
While all I hear is the sound?

Of everything falling down
Of everything that has drowned
Will this fiction come true
Or is the grass turning blue?

The loneliness of the country
Moths are my only friend
Innocence feeds on frailty
Until the bitter end
Will you come back here
When sounds erupt from the sea

I see them all falling down
I know that we have all drowned
My vision blurry like glass
That felt this kiss of the past
Snow falls to bury the truth
Frozen we are in our youth

My face is cracking like ice
Another roll of the dice
No wishes ever come true
When the light fades from you
The night is lonely and cold
No stars up there to behold
