Image for the poem RAIN

RAIN

Morning of lilac skies
Brought rain for earthen cries
Clouds poured out their gift
For flaccid plants to lift
The season's grasp unbroken
And harshest words unspoken
As the night unfolds it's arms
The sun extends it's charms

Standing motionless amidst constant motion
Held a shy expression across falling ocean
Shed a silent perplexed sigh after this notion
A whimsical willow feared the commotion

A strand hangs just above the lake
Pelted mirror reflects contorted shapes
Sparkling water in the suns rays
Still life painting that became awake

Imagined each drop as part of the sea
Imagined each drop as a part of me
Felt the rain cascading down
Felt the pain as if I drowned

I could stand in this downpour forever
Dancing like I was a floating feather
Raven in the breeze
Gliding with such ease
The calm before the storm
The storm that brings reform
Reform to heal the dawn
The dawn that saw it all
