The Caspian Horse

She's headed out for the beach
She's headed out for a dream
To meet with the horse from the Caspian Sea
But he's far ahead of her now
Catching up 'cos she believes
He has a vision in his eyes for her to see

You're swimming out to sea
To see the vision in his eyes
But he's swimming ahead to the other side
I'm waiting on the shore for you
Wondering if you'll make it through
Wondering if you'll be strong enough against the tide

See your future and your death in his eyes
See the beginning and the end of time
What will you learn?
What will you try?
What will you do as time goes by?

Watch the waters rise
In the horse's eyes
How long can you swim?
How far ( to the shore) can you reach?

Was the vision what you thought it be?
Was it the madness of your dream?
What have you learned?
What will you try?
Will you come back or is it goodbye?

Watch the waters rise
In the horse's eyes
How long can you swim?
How far (to the shore) can you reach?
The horse has gone back to the sea

I can see the sacrifice
I can see the tears you hide
And I can see the misery
I can see all that you can't see
And I can hear the distant bells
And I can tell the verse so well
I know what lies below the sea
And I know what is meant to be

I will lie below the tide
To the next phase of my life
Which lies beyond this place and time
Farewell, my friend, goodbye
