Image for the poem I, ALONE

I, ALONE

'Twas the night before
And in the wreckage, I bore
Weight like the ocean were above

In my grasp, she was ethereal
Pale before, khloros today
And I was trapped in the grey

Birds sing a morning song
But what am I to do so long?
So long it will feel wrong

'Twas the night before
You faded into weeping trees
Longing for the gentlest breeze
A rhyme for lost time
And the morning rime
So unhealthy was the fixation
Maybe need a vacation
Need to stop thinking

'Twas the night before
That night froze over
For there is no sun for me

I am left standing alone
Above you, I mourn
I, alone
'Twas the night before
