Rattling the Cage
They say if you love something let it go
But how is my feeble mind supposed to know
I'm torn between giving up everything I've ever dreamed
Or turning my back on you
But my god, I'm terrified of being alone
How do you shatter a puzzle when two wrong pieces seem to fit just right?
When sliding my hand over your skin feels like heaven
I've never been housewife material
Never will be
A gypsy soul isn't meant to be held by four walls
Or even the steadiest arms
I would follow you to the ends of the earth
But you're not the one that wants to go looking

Picking Up the Pieces"
Sometimes when pieces of a puzzle get flipped upside down
they seem to fit where they don't belong
But stripping away the colors on both sides of the image
Can reveal deeper secrets you thought were long gone
There is nothing more real than intangible love
Climb out of the pit and leap to the one waiting above
Leave behind who you no longer desire to be
Reach for the dream you were never able to see
The beauty of being human is that there is nothing you can't do
Rise up to become the woman hidden deep inside of you
Let your gypsy break free from the bars of your broken life
To explore four new walls where love unveils a happy housewife

Thank you poetryman.... I needed to read that. I seem to have an irritating habit of always running from everything even if its so fucking perfect it feels like a perpetual high.
He's ready to settle down and start a family... I want to travel and live on the road.

That's pretty common when your 18, for both of you. I wanted to get married when I was young but my girlfriend moved to California and I never saw her again. My next girlfriend was restless in other ways and she was gone in the blink of an eye... You never can tell how things will turn out, but I will say that I am now 53 and still single. That was absolutely not what I wanted then or now. So don't wait until it's too late. You will look back and wonder how life got away from you.
If you are going to travel, that's great, just have lots of money to spend. Everything is more expensive on the road. I'm still trying to go to Hawaii, it's just always been too damn expensive. Whatever you wind up doing, be happy in the moment. It helps keep a stress free life and then when you do settle down you won't have a laundry list of regrets, as I have...
