A NIGHT IN FEBRUARY

Wind whispered to me
Clouds shuffle across
The black landscape
Faint glow of proverbial moon
Shining gallantly through
Smoke of my cigarette
Dissipating dance of a halo
No sound was present here
But the faint guise of a quiet deer
I stared in it's reflective eye
As it's mirrored eye stared back
The treeline like a cavern atop us
And the humming of the twilight
Lower than the deepest ocean
Drapery fell, a part in me
Ringing a bell, flowing clean
Misery swell, and torn for me
Hearkened for hell, in this night shade
