whose lies do I believe
does luv blind my mind
for one that no one believes
am I to change
what is deep within me
that perhaps is the truth
judging on words
said in distress or depression
acts that weren't meant vicious
names called out in vein
no regard to family ties or luv
sacrifice all right or wrong
as a Mom ~ I hardly believe in that

It is unfortunate that words said in despair and anger can have far reaching effects. Most religions hold that the greatest source of evil is from the mouth. Learning to rule ones tongue is important. I enjoyed your poem. This is a deep ponder. Thank you for sharing it with us.

HI Ahavati........exactly right.....I will not forget this damage that words and thoughts not clearly thought out has emotionally rung me out this week.......I think at times we need to look at ourselves a bit closer before we toss others around.....also beware when Mom gets mad......LOL!! The most emotionally painful lies are probably those spoken within the family. That's where the bonds of trust are intended to be strongest, and when they're broken so lies the heart, bleeding where it should be sheltered. I suspect you're a fine mom with honesty and first rate writing as your policy. Just hate to see you in a dark mood Flower!
