Past the Flaws

My green eyes are burning bright
And I can see right past your façade.
You said that you never had the light

In you and that you are nothing but flawed.
To me you are imperfect in the messiest way
That is beautiful. I know that you are no god

Or perfect, but I hope that you would stay
So I can admire all your bumps and bruises
Of your incomplete soul. Do not stray

From me because you have no more excuses
To use up. I want you to see my flaws too. I
Will not be the one who will misuses or abuses

Your trust that I know is hard to come by.
I know that it never comes that quickly or
Freely. I never want to take away your clear sky.

This is our freedom and a place to store
Away all the bad stuff. I want to be a part
Of the piles you left behind on the floor.

I am not afraid of messes. I know that your heart
Is never easy to access and neither is mine.
We are only trying to play really smart

So we do not get hurt again. I want to be in line
To getting your continuous support. I want to get
Your love too. I want to be like twine

And wrapped around you. It is so easy to fret
About the little things, but with you we do not
Have to worry about them. You were never a threat

To what I am all about. You are the one who caught
Me in both my weakest and strongest moments in
Life. Darling, you should have thought

Better than to try to sneak past me. I have been
There before many times with you
When I have counted every blessing and sin.
