The Barista

In the cafe: She did speak nice to me
Had through my bodily language picked up;
The moment stopped, the other baristas looked;
When she reached out to a mad broken soul
The shyness ceased; in that moment it declined,
Of yet among the cool people in there
Made a joke and made me comfortable,
Sensed my insecurity, and smiled.
Not this time will I walk alone so sad:
She made sure of it, that I was valid,
Nor would she mock my lack of social grace.
She cared for me: and asked me if I liked that song,
I said I did but wanted to say more.
