Maroon Heart...

wandering yesterday I found
a human heart homeless
washed up on the coast

reflections of a ultrasound
was unneeded to see it was distressed
it was broke I diagnosed

shed by the shivering sea
bruised and barely beating
sunburnt and speckled with sand

trying to see if the cause of thee
was chambers clogged by cheating
promises were tangled across in a band

picking it up uncovering a tiny crab
disturbed by the commotion
I lifted a flap

memories smooth and spiny clasped
superb and shady emotions
swished around trapped

perhaps from being worn on the sleeve
or still haunted by horrors it see
at it's former address

lingering questions, was it a cure for this disease,
notify what authority?
the heartless rarely have a scar on their chest

I considered it imprudent and unreal
to leave a post on Twitter
being smug saying: from

your heart filled
with brine that's bitter
PS, there's still love at the bottom...
