Tiger Claws
as we speak, there is a baby running
with scissors
on the edge of the night
looking for where Mother kept the saffron
to place its light
upon the corners of eternity………...........

Re: Re. Tiger Claws
Thank you. I was thinking of the tiger stripe as being the color of saffron…and the eternal instinct of Mother… the babe is long gone. And art…there is natural science, and then there is the technology that man has devised out of that natural science… Thank you, Maenad.

Thank you.
I have enjoyed the same thought myself. This is my mind rambling through it and so feel free to ask any questions as I want to publish something besides this on the subject in the future. I love the subjects of mind and science and enjoy the art discussion.
Art is a reflection of mind...from life as we know it to the mind that sees it...that is a two part harmony(chaotic or not) but personal as to each individual involved; personal to the artist that brings it... reflecting to the mind that sees it. It is not reality except that our world is made with it...and all throughout history, we have lived in a world symptomatic of our actions. That would be my somewhat definition of what art is as I know. I don't consider myself an artist.
I think that The Winged Victory of Samothrace at the Louvre is one of the most beautiful pieces of art. Its history, its story, its beauty, its truth that speaks to me.. I also think that the Red Wheel Barrel written by William Carlos Williams a piece of excellence. There are entire literature based college courses offered on one poem... just to interpret...
"there is so much depends" isn't that funny? 🎨 :D I love it...
Science is a tool for reasoning to get at any conclusion of reality, ....and a lot of fun for me personally; too many facets and a lot of years experience...and it makes me smile because even though all that experience, at times anyway, was a pain in the ass fighting off zombies and conformists as to casual loops of existence, I wouldn't trade that knowing for the world and I've spent a lot of time with it.
I think science is beautiful because it gets at the inner structures to make the outside foundation a more solid. For instance the mind and what Skinner discovered....thoughts don't really exist until they're reacted upon by hard evidence. (if you want to know more about that then let me know)
But he didn't really discover it, Skinner didn't, he moved through others discoveries and formulated a cycles and truth from it. That is what a good scientist does and they are intellectually honest. You don't just wake up one morning and know something....I mean, you know things intrinsically, but until you have observed it, you can't really make a connection enough to articulate what your mind was telling you...
I'm not a scientist either, I'm just a mom,
and I'm curious of life
and what others have told me about it...
In science you have to go where the facts take you and some people don't like to go there - to look for universal truths and its never easy. And you can see that all throughout history. Both science and art are tools… one as a means of discovery and one an outlet. And I think of that song by Epic Eric Clapton; It's In the Way That You Use It! ~ :D
The fact is is that whoever practices scientific technique as a means to get at a different reality must search for a very long time, and during that time making guesses, and some are quite ignorant. You can't really know anything until you don't know something else that is in the way of whatever that anything is.
There are two sides to our minds. Intellect and emotion, they alternate like currents, and this keeps our mind divided. Science is the process. Art & Science: It is the difference in the world you live in and the world that you want to live in...
I want to say something else that is very important about science
There is a misconception that science is "smart” It’s a misconception because people see it as a finished product to use… and it can be smart in the ready made tool. For insistence you can use the word tomfoolery in conversation, but until you have experienced tomfoolery then you don't know tomfoolery.
And you have to use your imagination there and pretend that tomfoolery is isolated to the most brilliant scientific theory ever. Science is ignorant and unknowing until you discover...⚛
Thank you.

You are welcome...
You have explained it beautifully -the difference between having some data, or some information and knowledge /knowing something, it comes with experience, involvement dealing with the subject. Many a poems in your reply.
Kind regards
