misfit

I don't fit in
this place is foreign to me

staying with my mum for a bit
realizing all the lessons in class
that I learned as a child
have been long forgotten

feeling like a misfit
crass and out of place
in this refined arena

they're fine wine
I'm cheap whiskey

I used to be able to blend in
with the lower and upper echelons
and do it with ease
like a chameleon

I realize i'm at home
with the down and dirty of the world
the cum and shit stained walls of society

once upon a time I played low brow
now I realize you can only mess around in the devil's alley
for so long until you wake up
look at yourself in the mirror and see you're burned
