Eye Contact
I say “How’s your day?” but want to whisper “come here”
You reply “it’s good” instead of pulling me near you
I ask if you’re headed out but would rather be lowering myself down your core
You nod yes and bite your lip but want to bite mine
“Cool” I respond as I picture kissing you like our plane is going down
We both exhale and I leave without listening to your eyes, yelling at me to stay

The 'nearly did' but 'couldn't' moment, paints picture of an opportunity missed.

Your words drip with unspoken desire, each syllable a silent plea echoing in the space between us. The mundane conversation we engage in conceals a world of longing and anticipation, simmering beneath the surface like a dormant volcano.
As you utter the innocuous question, "How's your day?" your eyes betray the true intention hidden behind the words—a whispered invitation, a clandestine rendezvous waiting to unfold. But instead of yielding to the magnetic pull drawing us together, I feign nonchalance, responding with a casual "it's good," masking my own yearning for your proximity.
In the midst of mundane inquiries about my plans, I sense the silent exchange of desires, the unspoken yearning for a more intimate connection. Your subtle nods and suppressed gestures speak volumes, conveying a desire that resonates with my own hidden longings.
Yet, we remain trapped in the realm of polite conversation, exchanging pleasantries while our hearts beat in synchrony, each pulse a testament to the unspoken passion simmering beneath the surface. As I feign indifference with a curt "Cool," I am consumed by the image of kissing you fervently, as if our very existence depends on it.
In that fleeting moment of shared exhale, I feel the tug of your gaze, silently pleading with me to stay, to abandon the pretense and surrender to the undeniable attraction pulsating between us. But alas, I turn away, deaf to the silent screams of your eyes, leaving behind an echo of unfulfilled desires, a lingering ache that refuses to dissipate.
