This Box is Too Tight
We live in a
Literal,
Linear,
Legalistic
world.
I am a conTEXTual, multi- FREE-sPiRiteD
dimensional, girl.
Anti-depressants to cope with the pain
Of not fitting inside the box I've been placed.
Knowing what I know from livin',
Recognizing my child's similar to me...
Is allowing him to pass through the sheep gates of the American school
Being a neglectful parent?

The parenthesized portion of the title seems to take away from the
significance of the 'statement' of the piece. The parentheses don't (in this case) convey any irony or paradox to the poem, & you shouldn't have to explain that the tight box is not a pussy reference. That becomes immediately obvious.
