I'd rather keep things friendly
If it’s all the same to you
My nights are full I can’t fit you in
I’m afraid of what I’d see
If I changed things now after oh so long
It’s not worth the pain to me
To take you in, or take you on
I’m afraid of what I’d say or be
Because I’m sure you’d hate me soon you see?
I'd rather keep a friend
I'd rather keep things friendly
If it’s all the same to you
My nights are full I can’t fit you in
I’m afraid of what I’d see
If I changed things now after oh so long
It’s not worth the pain to me
To take you in, or take you on
I’m afraid of what I’d say or be
Because I’m sure you’d hate me soon you see?
I'd rather keep a friend
