Thanks to a Lost Friend

The way you ended your life does not define you
A kind hearted soul that changed the course of my life
In many ways you saved me from my own suicidal desires
Picked me up and made me laugh when I thought I never could
If the Lord is as forgiving as I am, your fate is in Heaven
For your caring heart watched over many lost souls
And brought mine to do good work no sales could reward my pockets with
I wonder if we will meet again in the afterlife
What will be said between dead friends
Living eternally without the lies and misbeliefs
Where truth is the will and the way, unwavering in the calmness
Of peace that fills the air and love is the substance of souls
I never got the chance to thank you old friend
So for now, this poem will have to represent
Then if we meet again, I can read you my poetry
Maybe then you will read yours to me
