The Monsters
The monsters mourn my absence
They long for my return to them
They look to the sky and whisper my name
Oh, how they cry when I tell them no
How they long to wrap me close against them
To easy my heartache and bitter pain
They tell me I should be a monster too
That my destiny is to join them someday
An image the pain in my mind
Of blue fur, glorious horns and fangs devine
I just have to give into the monsters love
Obey, and serve, hand over the remains
Of my heart and soul, so tattered up
I resist them and make so many excuses
I cannot today, maybe tomorrow or next week
I feel their saddness when I refuse their wishes
My heart knows I'll be a monster someday
But until then I know I am but a human
Wishing to be a part of the monsters
To feel not pain, but love and pleasure
From the monsters that love and want me
They long for my return to them
They look to the sky and whisper my name
