Realities
She wakes to such bitter reality:
Regret and retribution might well break
The forlorn hope that betrayed dreams may be
Discarded to begin again; she’ll take
A new path, so the inner loneliness
Need not be faced again another night;
The melancholy traps all the distress
That she would pour our freely; but, it’s quite
Expected that her silence will gestate
The feelings she’d suppress given the chance
To feel the song that renews every ache
And hurt, trapped in the cocoon of the glance
That wins her over momentarily;
But, soon, she wakes to this reality
Regret and retribution might well break
The forlorn hope that betrayed dreams may be
Discarded to begin again; she’ll take
A new path, so the inner loneliness
Need not be faced again another night;
The melancholy traps all the distress
That she would pour our freely; but, it’s quite
Expected that her silence will gestate
The feelings she’d suppress given the chance
To feel the song that renews every ache
And hurt, trapped in the cocoon of the glance
That wins her over momentarily;
But, soon, she wakes to this reality
